Leap vs MurfA Murf alternative, compared

Leap makes voice-overs: paste a script and hear it read by Eleven v4, Eleven v3, MiniMax Speech, Gemini and more in one studio, beside the video models your voice-over goes on. You pay per character in dollars, with no plan, and every recording downloads and is yours to use commercially from the first run.

$2 of credit to start, no card needed.

Where they differ

On Leap, not on Murf

  • Pay as you go, with no plan: top up from $5 and pay by the character.
  • Downloads and commercial use from your first run, the free $2 included.
  • Voices from ElevenLabs, MiniMax, Google, OpenAI and Microsoft on one balance, so you can read one script with several.
  • Video models in the same studio: a talking photo that says your script, or a narrated faceless video.

On Murf, not on Leap

  • Murf Studio, an editor for long voice-overs with control of pronunciation, pauses and emphasis, and add-ons for Canva and PowerPoint.
  • Its own Falcon and Gen2 voices, and an API for them from $0.01 per 1,000 characters, less than most voices cost on Leap.
  • Voice cloning and broadcast rights, on Enterprise.

Questions

Questions people ask

Can I use Murf's voices on Leap?
No. Murf's Falcon and Gen2 voices run only on Murf. Leap runs voices from ElevenLabs, MiniMax, Google, OpenAI, Microsoft and others, each named on its page with its price per character.
Can I clone my voice on Leap?
No. Each model reads your words in its own preset voices. The ElevenLabs Voice Changer can say a recording of yours again in one of its voices. Leap's Acceptable Use Policy forbids making a voice that passes for a real person who hasn't agreed.
Can I use the voice-overs commercially?
Leap's Terms say that, as between you and Leap, you own the results the studio makes for you, to the extent the law allows, and they set no personal-use-only limit. On Murf, paid plans include commercial rights, the free plan doesn't, and broadcast rights come only with Enterprise.
Does credit expire on Leap?
Credit you pay for doesn't expire while Leap is offered. On Murf, unused voice time carries over one billing cycle and is lost if you cancel.
Is Leap free to try?
Yes. A new account starts with $2 of credit and needs no card; the table on this page shows how much speech that reads with each model. After that you add credit from $5 and pay by the character.
