Who it's for

Birthdays and Father's Day
Dad as Man of the Year on a business weekly, or your mom on the cover of her own food magazine, framed.
Group chats
Your best friend on a fishing monthly made for them, with cover lines that know them a little too well.
Couples and pets
The two of you on a 1974 newsstand cover under Just Married, or the dog on a magazine about its porch.

What you get

Six magazines
High fashion, business, outdoors, food and home, music and a 1970s newsstand weekly, or Surprise me, which invents a niche magazine for their photo.
A real cover shoot
They are re-shot for the cover in that magazine's world, posed and lit by its photographer, and stay themselves.
Your words
Their name set big, a headline and up to three cover lines, spelled as typed. Leave the lines empty and it writes its own from the photo.
Two shapes
3:4 like a printed magazine, or 4:5 for a feed post.

Questions

Magazine cover, answered

Will it still look like them?
It is built to: the face, skin tone, age, hair, glasses, facial hair and a hijab or turban stay as in the photo, and it never retouches, slims or de-ages anyone. In our runs it kept a turban, grey hair, locs and a gap in the teeth. If someone changed, run it again.
Can I use a real magazine's name?
No. Every masthead is an invented name, like LUSTRE, LEDGER or HEYDAY, set so it looks like no real magazine's.
Is it a magazine cover template?
No. You type the words before it runs and get the finished cover back as a picture, which you can't edit in a design app. To change a line, change it and run it again. A 3:4 cover comes back at 1792 by 2400 pixels, enough for a sharp 6 by 8 inch print.
What does Magazine cover make?
Anyone on the cover of a magazine that looks real: an invented masthead, a real cover shoot and your own cover lines, from high fashion to a fishing monthly.
What photo works best?
Photo: A clear photo of one or two people, or a pet, with the face in view. Name: Set big on the cover exactly as typed, like Robert Okafor or Dad.
How does it work?
Add a clear photo of a person, a couple or a pet, with the face in view. Type their name, and a headline like Man of the Year if you like. Pick the magazine, or Surprise me. Get a cover in under half a minute, to send, post or print.
What can I choose?
Magazine: High fashion, Business, Outdoors and adventure, Food and home, Music, 1970s newsstand or Surprise me. Leave any of them to Surprise me.
How much does it cost?
From $0.25 an image, and you see the exact price before you press go. A run that fails costs nothing, there is no subscription, and you can start free without a card.
Can I use the result commercially?
Yes. You own what you make on Leap, so you can use it commercially, and we never train AI on it. The people and brands shown in a result can still have rights in it; the Terms say more.
Can I run it from code?
Yes. Developers run it as leap/magazine-cover through the Leap API, at the same price, with the same choices.

It runs on Nano Banana 2.1, with the prompting done for you. Rather write your own? Open a model's page and start from there.
