Questions
Family recipe card, answered
- Will it change the recipe?
- No word is changed. The card stays in its own handwriting with its own spelling and crossed-out lines, and a cookbook page sets the same words in type. In our runs Choclate Chip Cookys kept its spelling, Aunt Dot's crossed-out cup of sugar stayed crossed out, and a card in Hindi and English kept both scripts. Read it against the card before you print.
- Is it a recipe card template?
- No. It works from a card someone already wrote by hand. For a family cookbook, run each card as a Cookbook page and print the pages together.
- How big can I print it?
- A keepsake print comes back at 1856 by 2304 pixels, enough for an 8 by 10 inch print at about 230 dpi. A cookbook page is 1792 by 2400, a sharp 6 by 8 inches.
- What does Family recipe card make?
- A photo of a handwritten family recipe, restored and made into a keepsake: a print to frame, a cookbook page, a tea towel or a cutting board, every word kept as written.
- What do I need to bring?
- A photo of the handwritten card, flat, in good light, with every word readable.
- How does it work?
- Take a photo of the handwritten card, flat and in good light, with every word readable. Pick what it becomes and add a title line like Nana's Apple Cake, 1962. Add a photo of who wrote it, or of the dish, if you like. Get it back restored in under half a minute.
- What can I choose?
- Make it into: Keepsake print, Cookbook page, Framed in the kitchen, Tea towel, Cutting board or Surprise me. Leave any of them to Surprise me.
- How much does it cost?
- From $0.25 an image, and you see the exact price before you press go. A run that fails costs nothing, there is no subscription, and you can start free without a card.
- Can I use the result commercially?
- Yes. You own what you make on Leap, so you can use it commercially, and we never train AI on it. The people and brands shown in a result can still have rights in it; the Terms say more.
- Can I run it from code?
- Yes. Developers run it as leap/recipe-card through the Leap API, at the same price, with the same choices.
