What it has made

Each one came back as you see it, from the photo in its corner where there is one. The old prints are generated; no real family is pictured.

Questions

Restore old photo, answered

Will it change their faces?
It is built not to: the recipe tells the model to keep every face, expression, age and pose as it is and never to beautify or modernize anyone. Where a face was torn or faded away, some of it has to be guessed, so compare it with the print before you share it.
Are the colors accurate?
They are a likely guess for the period, not a record: a black and white photo doesn't hold its real colors. When the colors matter, keep the original tones.
What does Restore old photo make?
An old, faded or damaged photo repaired and sharpened, and colorized if you like.
What photo works best?
A scan or a straight-on phone photo of the print, cropped to its edges.
How does it work?
Scan the print, or photograph it straight on and crop to its edges. Keep its colors, or colorize it. Get up to four restored copies in one run.
What can I choose?
Color: Keep the original colors or Colorize.
How much does it cost?
From $0.25 an image, and you see the exact price before you press go. A run that fails costs nothing, there is no subscription, and your first top-up has no card fee.
Can I use the result commercially?
Yes. You own what you make on Leap, so you can use it commercially, and we never train AI on it. The people and brands shown in a result can still have rights in it; the Terms say more.
Can I run it from code?
Yes. Developers run it as leap/restore-photo through the Leap API, at the same price, with the same choices.

It runs on Seedream 4.5, with the prompting done for you. Rather write your own? Open a model's page and start from there, or pick one in Best AI photo editors, compared.
