Is it free?
You can start free: a new account comes with $2 of credit, and no card is needed. That is about 454 sounds with Eleven Sound Effects v2 ($0.0044 for a 2 s sound), or 16 with Mirelo SFX 1.6 ($0.121 for a 10 s sound). After that you add credit when you want more and pay per sound. There is no subscription, and the welcome credit is one per person.
How do I describe a sound?
Name what makes it, what happens and where: “a heavy steel airlock, a pressure hiss, a servo whine, a door sliding open with a clunk”. Every sound on this page shows the exact words it was made from.
How long can a sound be?
Up to 180 seconds with Sonilo SFX 1.1, and 22 with Eleven Sound Effects v2. You pick the length in the model's form, and on most models a longer sound costs more; the price on the Generate button changes with it.
Can it add sound to my video?
Yes, with MMAudio V2: add a silent clip and describe what should be heard, and it returns the start of your clip, up to 30 seconds, with sound timed to what happens on screen. Or make the effects here and lay them under the clip in your editor.
Can I use the sounds commercially?
Leap's Terms say that, as between you and Leap, you own the results the studio makes for you, to the extent the law allows, and they set no personal-use-only limit. Sonilo makes its effects for commercial use, and Stability AI says Stable Audio 3 was trained on licensed data, if that matters to you. Describe the sound rather than naming a film or a brand.
What do I download?
The audio file the model returns, an MP3 or a WAV depending on the model. Each run stays in the studio with the words it was made from, so you can play it again or download it later.
What happens if a run fails?
It costs nothing. Only a run that succeeds is charged, and you see the price on the Generate button before you press it.
