Questions
Drawing comes alive, answered
- What drawings work best?
- A drawing on paper, photographed straight on in good light: crayon, pencil or marker. Chalk on the sidewalk failed in every test, so it asks for paper.
- Will it keep the way my kid drew it?
- It is built to: the recipe tells the model to keep every stroke, color and wobble, and never to make it 3D or realistic. In one test a robot drawn in perspective came out as a grey 3D robot, so if yours stops looking drawn, run it again.
- Do the clips have sound?
- Yes, every clip comes back with sound. Tap the speaker on the clip at the top of this page to hear one.
- What does Drawing comes alive make?
- A photo of a drawing comes to life: your kid's crayon monster waves, walks, dances, flies off or roars, crayon lines and all, with playful sound.
- What photo works best?
- A photo of a drawing on paper, the whole drawing in view. Keep people and hands out of the photo.
- How does it work?
- Take a photo of a drawing on paper: a crayon monster from the fridge, a doodle, a marker dragon. Pick what it does, and whether it stays on the paper or brings its whole drawing to life. Get a 5 or 10 second clip with sound in a few minutes.
- What can I choose?
- What it does: Surprise me, Wave hello, Walk across the page, Dance, Fly away or Roar. Where: On the paper or Its own world. Leave any of them to Surprise me.
- How much does it cost?
- From $0.50 a second, and you see the exact price before you press go. A run that fails costs nothing, there is no subscription, and you can start free without a card.
- Can I use the result commercially?
- Yes. You own what you make on Leap, so you can use it commercially, and we never train AI on it. The people and brands shown in a result can still have rights in it; the Terms say more.
- Can I run it from code?
- Yes. Developers run it as leap/drawing-alive through the Leap API, at the same price, with the same choices.
It runs on Seedance 2.5, with the prompting done for you. Rather write your own? Open a model's page and start from there.
