Questions
Lyria 2, answered
- What is Lyria 2?
- Lyria 2 is a music model from Google. 30-second instrumental clips in high fidelity. On Leap it runs in one studio beside every other top model, with one account.
- How is it different from Lyria 3 and Lyria 3.5?
- Lyria 2: 30-second instrumental clips in high fidelity. Lyria 3: Google's Lyria 3: 30-second tracks at a low price. Lyria 3.5: Google's newest music model, from a prompt or an image. They all run in the same studio, so you can try one prompt on each.
- How much does a run cost?
- A track costs $0.135. You see the exact price before you press go, and a run that fails costs nothing.
- Is Lyria 2 free to try?
- No. There is no free credit: you add credit from $5, and your first top-up has no card fee. The cheapest run is $0.135 (a track), so $5 covers 37 of those. You pay per run, in dollars, with no subscription.
- Can I use what I make commercially?
- Yes. You own what you make on Leap, so you can use it commercially, and we never train AI on it. The people and brands shown in a result can still have rights in it; the Terms say more.
- Is there an API?
- Yes. Leap's REST API runs it as google/lyria-2, at the same price per run as the studio, and agents can call it through Leap's MCP server. The request is at the bottom of this page.
- Do I need a Google account?
- No. Leap sends your request to Google's model and gives you what it makes. One Leap account runs Lyria 2 and every other model, in the studio, through the API and from your agents.
